Yamaha Restoration project

A series of pictures of my Yamaha.

Picture 1
Close up view of the engine area follows in the next picture. No major problems on the outside. Need to check the inside.
Picture 2
This is the head on view of the vehicle. Rusting on the headlight rim is visible. Need to change / paint this to restore it to its former glory.
Picture 3
Left hand side view of the tank showing a major dent. Would like to replace the tank, but will I get the same colour? Rusting on the crashguard and saree guard is clearly visible.

Please click on the images to get a bigger sized image.

Other things that I think would need to be done:
  1. Cleaning of the tank.
  2. Electrical overhaul. Which means that the battery and wiring will need to be checked.
  3. Engine and exhaust clean up

On the functional side, I am considering the following:
  1. Disc brakes at the front
  2. Yezdi tyre replaced to stock
  3. Alloys
  4. Headlamp change to stock
  5. Twin console instead of stock Yamaha

I am not looking at performance mods and would like this bike to be more of a cruiser.
